Instructions

To gain access to the new PlanIt CSM, you will need to first create your company, and then create your individual user.  There can be as many separate users within your company as you’d like, and you may assign a company administrator to create and manage users within your organization.  First, we’ll walk you through creating your company.

Creating a Company

Your company will serve as the central contact information for any individuals you choose to give access to the plan room within your organization.  To create a new company:

1.       Click the “Log On” link on the left hand side

2.       Click “Create New Company” on the screen presented

3.       On the next screen presented, enter your company name and click “Search” to be sure that your company has not yet been created

If your company has already been created, it will show up in the search list.  If this is the case, click the company name to view the list of administrative contacts.  You will need to contact them to have your login created.  If they are no longer with your company, call CSM to have your company administrator reset.

4.       If your company is not listed, click “Create New Company”.

5.       Fill in all requested information.

6.       If your billing address is the same as your shipping address, use the “Copy from Billing Address” button so the information is consistent.

7.       Enter the security image letters into the “Confirm Submission” box.

8.       Double-check all information, and click “Submit” if everything looks correct.

Your company has now been created.

Creating a User

If you’ve just created a new company, you should already be looking at the user information screen.  The first user that is created will become the Company Administrator automatically, but this can be changed by CSM at a later date if necessary.  To create a new user:

1.       Fill in all required information

2.       For the “User ID”, enter your first name and last name separated by a period.  E.g. “steve.perry”

3.       Enter the security image letters into the “Confirm Submission” box.

4.       Double-check all information, and click “Submit” if everything looks correct.

If this is your first user created, you will automatically be logged in as the new user.  Be sure to memorize your User ID and password, or write them down and store them in a safe place.  Should you forget either of these, contact CSM to have them reset.

Using PlanIt CSM

Now that you have access to the plan room, we’ll step you through some common tasks.  The first move is to locate the project you’re looking for.

Public and Private Jobs

On the new PlanIt CSM, there are two different types of jobs: public and private.  Public jobs are able to be viewed and ordered by anyone who creates a login to the plan room.  Private jobs are not visible by default, and require a project password to gain access.  If a project is private, you will be given an individual project password on the Invitation to Bid.

Locating Projects

There are links located on the left hand site for public and private jobs.  Click the appropriate link to begin.  If you click “Public”, all public projects will be listed.  Click the name of the project to view the project details.  If you click “Private (with password)”, you will be asked to enter the project password.  Do so, and click “List Jobs”.  From that list, click the name of the project to view its details.

Now that we’re looking at the project details page, you’ll be presented with a few options.  These may vary depending on the permissions set on the project.

Viewing Project Documents

Viewing the documents for a project may require Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader to be installed on your system.  Many systems come with one of these options pre-installed.  If you don’t have one of these available on your system, visit http://www.adobe.com/ to download the free Reader, or contact your organization’s IT department to have this software installed for you.

If enabled for the project, you will have the option to view the project documents and to get electronic copies of these files.  Click “View Plan Images”, and you will be presented with a list of documents.  Clicking on the names of these documents will open a new window, and load the document on-screen.  You may save this electronic document to your computer for your use, or print the document if you have a capable printer in house.

Ordering Sets

If you decide to order a set, this can be done direct from the website and sent via UPS to any location of your choosing.  Click the “Place Order” button to begin the process.  Some information, such as your company name, contact, and address will be filled out automatically.  Be sure to set the quantity of plans you’d like to receive, and pay special attention to the Delivery and Payment Methods.

For the Delivery Method, be sure to select the correct option for your account.  If you have a UPS shipper number entered on your account, select “UPS Ground (with shipper no.)”, so that your UPS account is charged for shipping.  Otherwise, select “UPS Ground” to pay for shipping using the payment method you will choose below.

For the Payment Method, you will be paying by Credit Card unless CSM has otherwise specified.  Before you select “Negotiated (with CSM approval)”, be sure that you have approval from CSM or the ordering process will be delayed, and you may be required to place your order again.

If you need to change the shipping or billing address, do so, and click “Submit” to continue.  You will be presented with a confirmation screen, laying out the details of your order.  If you are sure that these look correct, click the “Accept” button.  Fill in your credit card information to complete the transaction.  Once your payment is processed, you will be presented with a completed order screen detailing the transaction.

Company Administration

If you are the company administrator, there are more options available to you for managing company information and contacts.  If your company information changes, use the “Edit My Company” link on the left-hand side to display a list of companies available to you.  Click the “Edit” link next to your company name to edit your information.

To create new users for your company or edit existing users, click the “Edit Company’s Contacts” links on the left-hand side.  You will be given a list of contacts for your company, and the choice to edit the existing users, or create a new user.  The process for creating a new user is the same as above, where you created your own user.
